Extreme Makeover: Home Edition - Keefer Family

Viking Pools and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition are currently working on their 19th makeover together in Newberry Township, PA.

This Extreme Makeover will be in honor of Brian Keefer.

As the president of the gymnastics club at Lock Haven University he was a record-holder in track and field, and a volleyball player and coach.

This all unfortunately changed on July 1st, 2008. Brian was in a gymnastic accident that left him paralyzed from the chest down.

Now 23-year-old Brian lives with his parents in their family home in Newberry Township PA. Their home proved to be a challenging environment for Brain's condition. "The rooms are small and modification to allow for easier movement are hard to make," stated his father, Steve Keefer.

On Sunday June 19th the Keefer family received news that will forever change their lives. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was there to help!

June is National Scoliosis Awareness Month. Scoliosis effect 2 to 3 percent of our population. This musculosketal condition causes curvature of the spine. Calendar Feature - June 2011

Happy June everyone!

Viking Pool’s 2011 Calendar features this beautiful Cancun and Mystic Spa, installed by Pool Crafters, in a luscious tropical setting for the month of June. This pool also won the 2011 Pool of the Year!

The Cancun pool features man made rock coping on the far side and cast stone bull nose coping on the deck side. The rock work surrounding the pool, spa, and shallow beach is steel reinforced shotcrete shaped and molded to look like natural cap rock, which is indigenous to South Florida. The Mystic Spa features 12 jets and spills over in the shallow beach pool. The pool decking is Turkish Gold 6"x"12 travertine chisel cut placed in a beautiful herringbone style. Friends and family to these customers now refer to this backyard as “The Miller Resort & Spa.” Pool Crafters took this customers backyard and truly turned it into a personal paradise, in every sense of the phrase.
