New Episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

Hey Everyone, Viking Pools just wanted to give you a heads up that we will be featured in an upcoming NEW episode of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition this Sunday May 15, 2011 at 8PM EST on your local ABC station.

The Viking Pools team called upon expert dealer, Ric Reineke, from The Pool Guyz in Virginia Beach to head up the build with new dealer Danny Moore from Backyard Leisure in Huntsville AL. A modified Santa Cruz was installed inside the house and was decked out in Azure blue Diamond Series finish, Eipca Beryl 3 perimeter tile from Fujiwa tile, and a single nozzle Badu Jet system.

Look for pictures and video on our website after the episode airs this weekend and then watch for future air dates on Facebook and Twitter.

Cinco de Mayo - Elotes Tatemados

Here is a wonderful recipe in celebration of Cinco de Mayo that would be a great first use of your grill this year!  Enjoy!



Elotes Tatemados
Serves: 12

What you'll need:

10 dry chiles
1 dozen ears un-husked sweet corn, yellow or white
1 dozen Mexican limes, halved
5 tsp salt dissolved in 1 cup of water
1/4 cup butter, melted

Over a medium flame, heat a large, heavy, dry skillet. Sauté chiles for 30 seconds, or until they turn a dark red. Use a blender or food processor and grind the chiles finely, set aside. On a barbecue, roast the un-husked ears for 30 minutes. Remove the ears, cool, and take off the outer leaves along with the silk, returning them to the barbecue. Use the salt water to coat the ears, and then a heavy coat of butter. Roast until the kernels turn a golden color, and the marinade has soaked into each ear. Squeeze lime juice over the corn, dust with just a pinch of the toasted ground chili. Sprinkle with salt to taste.

May 2011 Featured Pools

This Montego features our Diamond Series Persian finish. The Diamond Series finishes adds a deep, rich color and enhanced sparkle to the pool’s finish. The perimeter tile on this pool is Travertino Blend from National Pool Tile; with matching inlayed tiles on the steps. The build in Viking Cascades adds the intoxicating, relaxing sound of a waterfall. The spiral waterslide is a great feature for kids and adults.
This Viking Montego was installed for the Lutz Family as featured on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
